The 3rd Primary School of Naoussa “Galakeia” is actively participating in the European PLAYFOOD initiative, which aims to shape the responsible consumers of tomorrow. PLAYFOOD is implemented from EduQuest in collaboration with organisations and schools from Belgium, Greece and Portugal, focusing on promoting sustainable consumption and healthy eating habits among students aged 9-12 through interactive, enjoyable and modern educational experiences.
The central goal of PLAYFOOD is to strengthen the knowledge and skills of students, parents and teachers on issues related to food waste reduction, local and seasonal nutrition, climate change, circular economy and growing our own food. These four thematic pillars form the foundation for cultivating more conscious and responsible dietary behaviour.
The first activities at Galakeia have begun!
As part of the project’s launch, students and teachers are already engaging in activities that help them explore the origins of food, the benefits of a balanced and healthy diet and the environmental footprint of their everyday habits. The discussions in class and the educational activities carried out so far represent the first step in a process that will be enriched in the coming months with even more actions.
By participating in the project, the 3rd Primary School of Naoussa significantly enhances environmental education, makes use of modern digital tools integrated seamlessly into the curriculum and encourages collaboration and engagement among parents and children on matters related to nutrition and sustainability. This is an important investment in the new generation, helping to shape students who understand the impact of their choices and can contribute to a more responsible future.
PLAYFOOD activities are already in full progress, and more updates on upcoming actions will be announced soon.
