European Project CAPaware: Mapping the Needs of the Agri-Food Sector – Second Meeting

Following the in-person meetings held in Katerini and Naousa, the European project CAPaware continues its dialogue with citizens through a new open online meeting. The event, entitled “Mapping the Needs of the Agri-Food Sector – Second Meeting”, will take place on Monday, 20 July 2026, at 18:00 (EET) via Google Meet, giving even more citizens the opportunity to participate in the discussion on the future of the agri-food sector.

The meeting aims to explore how European Union data is connected to the real needs of people living and working in rural areas. Participants will also be introduced to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and the main findings of “Eurobarometer 520”, an official European Union survey that examines citizens’ knowledge, perceptions, and opinions regarding the agri-food sector.

The event will continue with an open discussion, where citizens and agri-food professionals will have the opportunity to share their experiences, needs, and suggestions. In addition, the results of the in-person meetings held in Katerini and Naousa will be presented and compared with the views expressed during the online meeting, providing a more comprehensive understanding of the needs of local communities.

The conclusions drawn from this process will be used to develop proposals that can contribute to improving the Common Agricultural Policy by reflecting the real needs of local communities.
