New Erasmus+ project in Naoussa on bioeconomy and entrepreneurship for high school students

In October 2025, a new project was launched in Naoussa entitled “BEE- BIOECONOMY ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION (BEE),” which is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Program in the category of Small-Scale Projects in School Education.

The BEE project aims to empower high school students aged 15-18 to become the future entrepreneurs of the bioeconomy and contribute to Europe’s green transition. Through an innovative educational program, BEE will introduce students to the bioeconomy, sustainable entrepreneurship, and systems thinking.

Led by DOON (Netherlands) and partnered by RHIZO (Belgium), Stanislascollege (Netherlands), 1st General High School of Naoussa (Naoussa, Greece), and EDUQUEST (Naoussa, Greece), the BEE project combines expertise in secondary education, bioeconomy, and entrepreneurship through cross-border cooperation.

The main activities to be carried out within the project are:

  • Assessment of students’ existing knowledge of the bioeconomy and entrepreneurship.
  • Identification of the skills required of a bioeconomy entrepreneur
  • Creation of a comprehensive guide for teachers, including interactive resources for teaching the above concepts in the classroom.
  • Organization of international workshops to strengthen teachers’ teaching skills in bioeconomy topics.
  • Testing the program in partner schools.
  • Holding bioeconomy competitions for students, culminating in a final conference to share the project results.

The main objectives of the project are to identify the skills required of an entrepreneur working in the bioeconomy sector and to strengthen the skills of students and teachers in the above areas.
