PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Overview

The BEE project aims to empower young people in upper secondary education (ages 15-18) to become future bioeconomy entrepreneurs, contributing to Europe’s green transition. Through an innovative teacher intervention program, BEE will introduce students to bioeconomy, sustainable entrepreneurship, and systems thinking, aligning with the Green Deal priorities.

What is the main goal of BEE?

  • Identify the required skills of a bioeconomy entrepreneur in the 21st
  • Develop the BEE Playbook: a specialized teacher intervention program for teachers to deliver bioeconomy and entrepreneurship education.
  • Strengthen teacher competencies in bioeconomy & entrepreneurship education.
  • Inspire students with bioeconomy-focused entrepreneurship trainings and activities.
  • Disseminate the importance of bioeconomy education at local, national, and EU levels.

What activities are we planning for the BEE Project?

  • Assess students’ current knowledge and skill gaps about bioeconomy and entrepreneurship.
  • Identify the required skills of a bioeconomy entrepreneur
  • Create a comprehensive guide for teachers, including interactive resources on bioeconomy and entrepreneurship.
  • Organize international workshops to enhance teaching skills in bioeconomy topics.
  • Test and refine the program in partner schools.
  • Conduct student bioeconomy contests, culminating in a final conference to share project results.

Expected Outcomes:

  • A skills assessment report to identify students’ bioeconomy and entrepreneurship needs.
  • The BEE playbook as an educational resource for teachers.
  • An international teacher training program for effective delivery of the BEE curriculum.
  • A policy document to guide future bioeconomy and entrepreneurship education.
  • A final conference to share insights and engage stakeholders.
