EduQuest and its team traveled to Vilnius, Lithuania, for an intensive three-day event, participating as mentors in the ENACT project’s international Hackathon. From November 24 to 26, 2025, EduQuest executives joined forces with experts from across Europe, guiding international teams of young people in solving critical issues in the primary sector. The event, hosted at Vilnius College, was not just a technical competition, but a collective effort to redefine the way we produce and distribute our food.

Solutions for Real Agricultural Challenges

During the competition, EduQuest executives saw firsthand how the new generation is leveraging technology to solve long-standing problems. The innovations developed addressed challenges that are all too familiar to our own agricultural community in Naoussa.

The central focus of many teams was bridging the generation gap. Several teams designed digital solutions to connect older farmers with younger successors, ensuring that valuable experiential knowledge is not lost but passed on to the new generation of growers. Beyond tradition, other teams also focused on economic sustainability. Practical digital tools were presented to reduce bureaucracy, allowing farmers to focus on production. Other noteworthy ideas included equipment sharing systems (to reduce costs) and decentralized distribution networks designed to reduce the environmental footprint and connect local producers directly with consumers.

Connecting Policy with Action

The best ideas from the “Innovation Marathon” were presented on November 26 at the AgriFood Forum 2025 in Vilnius, followed by policy discussions on the challenges and future of food security and the agri-food sector in Europe.

For EduQuest, participation in this international forum underscores a core belief: that the challenges facing rural areas (whether in the plains of Lithuania or the farms of Imathia) are deeply intertwined. By participating in these global exchanges, EduQuest is already exploring how these innovative methodologies and best practices could be transferred to the region of Imathia.
