PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Overview
EITIC-EU aims to inspire and educate school students, especially girls aged 10-16, about the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). Through showcasing female role models and creating innovative educational resources, the initiative strives to promote equality, challenge stereotypes, and empower young girls to pursue their passions in STEAM fields.
The main objectives of EITIC-EU are:
- Promote STEAM Excellence: Encourage interest and participation in STEAM disciplines among young girls.
- Showcase Role Models: Highlight inspiring stories of women thriving in STEAM careers.
- Bridge the Gender Gap: Create opportunities to address gender disparities in STEAM fields.
- Empower Educators: Equip teachers with resources to foster inclusive and inspiring STEAM education.
- Engage Communities: Raise awareness about the importance of gender balance in STEAM.
In order to achieve the abovementioned objectives, a set of activities will be organized in the frame of the project. The most important ones are:
- Open Educational Resources (OER): We are crafting an easy-to-use, multilingual educational materials that spotlight the achievements of remarkable women in STEAM. These resources are designed to be inclusive and adaptable, making them perfect for classrooms everywhere. Teachers and students alike will have access to inspiring stories and practical tools to explore STEAM in a new light.
- Interactive Sessions and Competitions: Hands-on workshops and engaging contests are at heart of this heart of this initiative. These activities are designed to spark creativity and critical thinking, encouraging students to imagine, create, and problem-solve. Competitions add an exciting twist, motivating students to showcase their ideas and learn through collaboration.
- Public Awareness Campaigns: Beyond classrooms, we’re reaching out to the community with events and digital campaigns. These efforts aim to spread the word about the importance of women in STEAM, creating a ripple effect of awareness and support. By connecting with parents, educators, and local leaders, we ensure the message resonates far and wide.
